Welcome to Color Mixing using the three primaries or their metaphors*.
This is an introduction to some tools that I am building to help artists plan and make colors in painting. Not only cold but Color/Value.
Some background. (link to Attentive equations for some context and info about judith)
Text about Sloan’s Book referring to color and value references.
Intro to the big chart that makes the table and triangles and link.
This is the core piece in this project. An html web app that instantly builds a potential palette from three primaries the you choose from the hex table. Along with Black and white.
Based on Sloans example in his book. I have made it with a seven value range.
The primaries are entered in the top fields. You can also add white or black variations.
The color grid id built from the primaries. There’s a curve to see how slow to the ideal the primary choices are.
The circles represent the full intensity primaries and the full intendsity mixes.
There’s a yellow blue bar the show the best proportion for add in subtractive mixing vs the screen’s additive mixing
Not the lower section ate the Tiangle 12 color s of the created spectrum. In the color table and the triangle it’s easy to see the resolution ship of color/value. We can export SVG, grey scale image and a permanent link to this ‘mix’ and files othis the chart. At the bottom we can make a list if the color names and the hex numbers colors. These can be used in other charts.
Making and editing a list of Hex numbers that will display Maker - Color name and HEX#

Explain the many features of Sloantable charts
We also can view and save a pdf of a set of complimentary and split complimentary color based on these the selected primaries. Very useful for approximating neutral colors.
